The genesis of this design was Christopher Dresser an amazing designer that I was totally unaware of until recently. As an industrial designer in the 1800's he was inspired by and worked for employers in Britain, France, Japan and USA. The rarely found feature of this design is the background 'embossing' of the floral theme. White on white and cream is lifted with the gold detailing.
